A customised Dwell build
Dwell from the Shopify Theme Store as the base, customised throughout: warm room photography, a calm serif, and short headlines in the brand's voice. "Stay, the room is ready." "Sit with it first."

Furniversal makes sofas, sectionals and recliners to the size of your room, from a studio in Kalyan Nagar. Their WordPress site looked dated, said little about the brand and gave buyers no clear next step. We migrated them to Shopify and rebuilt the store around how they actually sell: sit in the studio, see it on a video call, or start an enquiry.
Furniversal is a Bengaluru furniture studio. Its house label makes sofa sets, sectionals, recliners, armchairs and beds to the size of the room, in fabric or genuine leather, in about thirty days, with ten years on the frame, structure and mechanism. The studio in HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar also shows HomesToLife, Living Concepts and HomeLane, and plans full interiors. In person, all of that sells. Online, it didn't. The old WordPress site didn't look like a premium furniture brand, didn't say what made Furniversal different, and didn't give a visitor an obvious next step. We moved the business to Shopify and rebuilt the store around three things: a clear message, a studio worth visiting, and a way to buy without walking in.
Choose a page and a device, then scroll inside the frame — this is furniversal.com as it runs in production today.
The look and feel didn't match the product or the price. For a made-to-order sofa that costs as much as a holiday, the website was the weakest part of the sale.
A visitor couldn't tell what Furniversal does differently: sofas cut to your wall, a ten-year warranty, a studio you can sit in. The things that win the sale in person were missing online.
Products had no strong next step, the studio was hard to find, and there was no way to buy without visiting. Visitors who were interested left without starting a conversation.
Changing platforms is when stores lose rankings. Pages, URLs and titles had to come across in a way that kept what Google already knew about the brand, and fixed what it didn't.
6 workstreams, delivered by one team.
Dwell from the Shopify Theme Store as the base, customised throughout: warm room photography, a calm serif, and short headlines in the brand's voice. "Stay, the room is ready." "Sit with it first."
The core promise runs through the site: measure the wall, choose fabric or leather, and the sofa is made in about thirty days. Configurations, materials and swatches sit on every product page.
Every product leads to Enquire or visit and Buy on video call, with WhatsApp to the studio in the header. Buyers who can't visit see the piece live before they commit.
No-cost EMI, the ten-year warranty and free delivery in Bengaluru sit in the announcement bar and under the buttons, not in the footer. A ₹5,000 offer tab captures buyers who aren't ready yet.
A studio page with address, hours, map and WhatsApp. An interiors page with six finished Bengaluru homes and a six-step planning guide. A brands page with its own enquiry for each label the studio carries.
The catalogue rebuilt into collections by sofa type, with filters for configuration, colour and comfort, and old WordPress URLs mapped to their new Shopify pages so search didn't start from zero.
The sequence of work, phase by phase.
Went through the old site page by page: what it said, where visitors dropped off, and which pages and URLs search already knew.
Brought the brand down to a few lines: made to your room, sit with it first, ten years on the frame. Set the visual direction on Dwell around warm rooms and a calm serif.
Customised Dwell section by section, built the studio, interiors and brands pages and the enquiry and video-call paths, and moved the catalogue into collections with filters.
Redirects, forms and tracking checked, then the new store taken live on furniversal.com.
Month one of an ongoing retainer for search, paid ads and maintenance. Results go up here at the six-month mark.
furniversal.com now runs on Shopify. Every key page is in the live view above, on desktop and mobile.
Studio visit, video call and enquiry on every product page, plus WhatsApp to the studio from anywhere on the site.
Sofas, sectionals, recliners, armchairs and beds, organised by type and filtered by configuration, colour and comfort.
We now run Furniversal's SEO, paid ads and store care. We'll publish results here after six months of data, around April 2027.

furniversal.com runs on Shopify · Dwell theme, customised.
A customised Dwell build; Made to the room, said plainly; Three ways to buy; Trust at the point of decision, and 2 more workstreams. The full scope is broken down in the "What we built" chapter of this case study.
Shopify storefronts block being embedded inside other websites, a security setting that protects the checkout. So the live view scrolls full-page captures of furniversal.com, taken from the production store on desktop and mobile.
WordPress is a publishing tool with commerce added through plugins, so every update is a maintenance job and a risk to the site. Shopify handles hosting, security, speed and checkout as standard, which leaves the team's time for the catalogue, the content and the customers.
Map every old URL with traffic or links to its new Shopify address and redirect it permanently, carry over titles and content that already rank, submit the new sitemap, and watch Search Console for crawl errors in the weeks after launch.
The new store launched in October 2026, and we're in month one of SEO, paid ads and maintenance for the brand. We'll publish results once there are six months of data to report honestly, rather than projecting numbers we can't show yet.
For made-to-order pieces at this price, most buyers want to sit on it, see the fabric or talk it through first. Designing the store around a visit, a video call and an enquiry meets them there, instead of asking for a ₹1 lakh checkout from a product page.
Tell us about your brand — we'll tell you honestly what it would take to build it, and where the revenue opportunity is.
