Other regions we work in

Same remote team, every other D2C hub across India.

Beyond Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi NCR, we work with brands across every other major Indian manufacturing and D2C region — each with its own industrial character worth knowing before we start.

PuneMaharashtra — A growing D2C and manufacturing-adjacent hub

Pune sits at an interesting intersection: it has one of India's strongest manufacturing and automotive-ancillary industrial bases, alongside a genuinely fast-growing IT and startup ecosystem that's expanded well beyond Bangalore and Hyderabad's shadow over the past decade. D2C brands coming out of Pune often reflect that mix — founders who understand production, sourcing, and margin structure at a level that comes from proximity to manufacturing, paired with an increasingly digital-native approach to marketing and growth.

HyderabadTelangana — Pharma, wellness, and a fast-growing tech scene

Hyderabad's economy leans heavily on pharmaceuticals and biotech — it's one of India's largest hubs for both — alongside a genuinely fast-growing IT and startup sector. That pharma and life-sciences density tends to produce D2C brands in wellness, supplements, and ayurveda/health categories run by founders who understand formulation, sourcing, and regulatory constraints deeply, often more deeply than the typical D2C founder in a category where health claims and labeling rules actually matter.

ChennaiTamil Nadu — Manufacturing strength meets a growing D2C scene

Chennai's economy is built on manufacturing and export strength — automotive components, leather goods, and textiles have deep roots here — and its D2C sector has grown out of that base rather than a venture-funded startup scene the way Bangalore's has. That tends to produce D2C brands with strong sourcing and production fundamentals, often bootstrapped or self-funded, where the biggest gap isn't supply chain but the digital storefront and growth layer built on top of it.

AhmedabadGujarat — Textile and pharma manufacturing at real scale

Ahmedabad's economy runs on textile and pharmaceutical manufacturing at genuine scale — it's historically one of India's most important textile centers, and Gujarat's pharma industry is among the country's largest. D2C brands emerging from this base tend to have real production and quality-control depth, often exporting or supplying at scale before or alongside building a direct consumer brand, which changes the starting point for a Shopify engagement compared to a brand built digital-first with no manufacturing background.

SuratGujarat — India's diamond and textile export capital

Surat processes the large majority of the world's diamonds by volume and is one of India's most significant textile manufacturing centers, particularly for synthetic and silk fabrics. That industrial concentration produces D2C brands with genuinely deep sourcing and manufacturing knowledge in ethnic wear, silk textiles, and jewelry-adjacent categories — brands that often know their product cost structure and quality standards better than most agencies could tell them, and need the digital storefront and growth engineering to match that operational strength.

JaipurRajasthan — Jewelry, gemstones, and artisan export heritage

Jaipur's economy carries centuries of artisan and export tradition — gemstone cutting and jewelry-making, block-print and hand-embroidered textiles, blue pottery, and handicrafts more broadly. A significant share of Jaipur's D2C brands come from families or businesses with generations of craft and export experience, which means the product story and provenance are often genuinely rich — the challenge is usually translating that heritage into a digital storefront that communicates it clearly to a buyer who's never been to Jaipur and has no context for why the craftsmanship matters.

KolkataWest Bengal — Jewelry, leather goods, and traditional retail going digital

Kolkata carries a historic strength in jewelry and leather goods manufacturing, alongside a retail culture built around long-established local stores and family businesses. The shift many Kolkata brands are navigating now is less about starting a business from scratch and more about a genuinely established, often multi-generational retail business extending into direct-to-consumer ecommerce for the first time — which brings real product and category trust, but often very little prior experience with paid digital acquisition, Shopify's technical layer, or ecommerce-specific customer service expectations.

ChandigarhPunjab / Haryana — Sports goods manufacturing and a growing D2C base

The Chandigarh and wider Punjab region carries real manufacturing depth in two specific areas: sports goods (Jalandhar is one of the world's significant sporting-goods manufacturing clusters) and agricultural processing, given Punjab's role as one of India's primary agricultural states. D2C brands from this region often reflect that base — sports equipment and apparel brands with genuine manufacturing scale, and food/agri-processed brands built on real supply-chain proximity to raw material sources.

IndoreMadhya Pradesh — A growing central India logistics and D2C hub

Indore has grown into central India's most significant commercial hub over the past decade — a real logistics advantage given its central geographic position for pan-India distribution, alongside a steadily emerging D2C and startup scene. Brands from Indore are often earlier in their digital-commerce maturity than those from more established D2C hubs like Mumbai or Delhi NCR, which means the highest-leverage work is frequently foundational rather than advanced optimization.

Questions

Working with a remote Shopify team — answered.

Does Carryup have physical offices in these cities?

One: Carryup is based in Bangalore. Every other city on this page is somewhere we work with brands remotely, and the page lists them because that's where D2C founders search for local Shopify help — not because we have branch offices there. We'd rather be upfront about that than imply a presence that doesn't exist.

Why does it matter which city a Shopify agency is "in" at all?

For a Shopify engagement specifically, it mostly doesn't — theme development, checkout configuration, tracking, and growth work all happen the same way regardless of geography. What actually needs local presence (fulfillment, photography, physical retail) is usually already handled by vendors most brands have relationships with, independent of who builds their store.

Do you serve cities not listed here?

Yes — we work with D2C brands anywhere in India and internationally (UK, US, Australia, UAE among others). This page covers cities with a real concentration of D2C activity, not an exhaustive list of where we'll work.

How is working remotely actually different from a local agency?

In practice, faster: shared staging environments, documented two-week sprints, and async updates by default, with calls scheduled around your time zone rather than office hours. A remote model built around senior engineers directly on the account tends to outperform a local-office model built around account managers and in-person meetings.

Guide

Choosing a Shopify agency by city — and why remote-first usually wins

"Shopify agency in [city]" is a common search, but for a Shopify engagement specifically, physical location rarely determines the quality of the work — theme development, checkout configuration, tracking, and growth strategy all happen through the same tools and the same platform regardless of where the team sits.

We're upfront about where we are: based in Bangalore, working with brands across India's major D2C cities and internationally, remotely everywhere except home. What we'd ask any brand evaluating a "local" agency to check is whether that proximity actually translates into better engineering, faster turnaround, and real accountability — or just a nicer office to visit.

What actually needs to be local, and what doesn't

Inventory, fulfillment, and product photography benefit from local vendor relationships — and most brands already have those independent of who builds their Shopify store. Theme development, app integrations, checkout configuration, tracking, and paid media strategy don't require physical proximity; they run through the same admin panel and the same ad platforms no matter where the team is.

The real risk with "local agency" as a proxy for trust

A local office is easy to verify and easy to feel reassured by, but it says nothing about whether the team actually has deep Shopify engineering experience. The better questions are about specifics: what have they actually shipped, can they explain what's broken in your current store precisely, and will the same senior people stay on your account after the contract is signed.

How a remote engagement is structured to stay accountable

Shared staging environments so you can see work in progress, documented two-week sprints instead of vague ongoing effort, and direct access to the engineers actually doing the work — not a account-manager layer relaying updates from an offshore team you never talk to.

Where we actually work from, plainly stated

Carryup is based in Bangalore — see our About page — and works with D2C brands across India and internationally, across the UK, US, Australia, and the UAE. Bangalore is the only city here where we're physically present; we don't operate branch offices in the others listed on this page; we list them because that's where D2C founders are searching from, and we'd rather answer the question directly than avoid it.
